Private jet charter and flights to Darwin

Located in Australia’s Northern Territory, Darwin is geographically closer to Bali than Sydney, which accounts for its distinctly tropical vibe and excellent Asian dining scene. Though less-visited than its southern counterparts, the fastest-growing capital city Down Under is a vibrant hub with plenty to offer, from top-quality markets and remnants of a wartime history to open-air movies and a lively waterfront. Experience it all and charter a private jet with Air Charter Service to Darwin.

Darwin is an up-and-coming foodie hotspot. Dining here is always laidback and you’ll find pop-up eateries, hole-in-the-wall cafés and food vans alongside the more established coffee shops and restaurants. The waterfront is the city’s social hub, where locals and visitors alike gather at sunset with a plate of fresh seafood and a cold beer in hand.

In the city centre, laneways are scattered with boutique independent eateries such as hipster cafés and small fine-dining restaurants. Slightly further afield lies one of Darwin’s highlights: the Mindil Beach Sunset Market. Here, the fragrant aromas of the Asian food stalls tempt visitors to enjoy the likes of Thai green curry and nasi goreng. The nearby suburb of Parap is one of Darwin’s original café culture hubs, while the artsy Nightliff and Rapid Creek neighbourhoods offer some great pop-up waterfront eateries.

There are plenty of leisure activities on offer in Darwin. Cool off on a balmy day in the waterfront Precinct’s man-made lagoon, wave pool and saltwater beach area. Up the action with fly-boarding or find a quiet spot in one of the pretty parklands to while away a sunny afternoon. Cycling is big news in Darwin and there are cycle paths for easy routes around the city. In the dry season, watch a movie under the stars at the open-air Deckchair Cinema.

Darwin has an interesting wartime past – during World War II, over 300 bombs were dropped on the harbour. History buffs can visit the Darwin Military Museum and Aviation Heritage Centre to learn more. There’s also a strong Aboriginal culture here, with galleries showcasing local artwork and traditional curios on sale in many small shops and markets.

As well as being the gateway to epic wildernesses such as Kakadu and the Kimberley, Darwin also offers easy access to some great parks and reserves that can be visited on a day trip. It’s around a two-hour drive to the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park or just an hour to the lush fauna and swimming holes of Berry Springs Nature Park.
